New place, same Kinsley

Wow....I am so bad at this blogging thing. It's hard to keep a journal in real life and then one online because I feel like I'm repeating myself....

hmmm....well, since I last wrote, I transferred to Houston. I'd been visiting my family a lot, and when the opportunity to get closer to home came up, I jumped on it.

I have given up dating anyone for now....of course, as soon as I say that, I'll start crushing on some dude!! But I'm not looking. Seriously!!

And other than that....life has been pretty mellow. I've been working a ton. :( In order to prep for the move I had to work a lot of overtime, and then as soon as I transferred, I felt like I had to work a lot to prove myself. As a result, I've been working late and weekends frequently and have not had much of a life outside of work.

But now things are calming down....I'm looking forward to slowing things down and catching up with blogs, starting with mine!

So far all 2 of you readers, I'm back!! We'll see for how long, lol!

Owwwww!

For Mother's Day yesterday, my mom wanted to go sit out by the pool. I, silly me, thought that SPF 15 would be sufficient but I guess that when you're as white as I am, you need a little more. I hurt all over. I'm as red as a lobster. Why do I do this to myself??

The thing with PTG has been over for quite some time. I was disappointed to not see any cute guys at the pool though. One good thing though: I have a potential. I've been traveling a lot for work and on this last trip I met a really a really cool mechanical engineer. He lives in South Dakota but is moving to Houston soon for a new job. I've actually been offered a job in Houston and I'm thinking about taking it. (Not because of ME guy... But that is a perk.) A lot of my family is still there, and I know it's not that far from San Antonio, but still. I don't get to visit often. This job has me traveling too much.

Anyway though, back to my airplane guy. I was on a tiny plane! It was about 15 rows, and only two seats on each side. I'm not used to tiny planes like that. I was a little nervous too. I mean, that whole swine flu thing... But I survived. How long is the incubation period? I think I'm okay. I was just minding my own though, listening to my iPod when the drink cart came around. I took the headphones off and gave my order. He started up a conversation. He laughed at me for saying "y'all." He has the sweetest smile! Campbell's Soup! Mmm mmm good! Hehe.

I had a date last Saturday with a guy I met at a bar. I'm starting to not like the bar guys, and I don't know why I said yes. This one called me up and asked to meet me on Friday but I said no. (Didn't want to be too available.) He said, well, some friends are going out to a bar tomorrow. I agreed to go then. I met up with him and four of his friends and he was completely different! I hate that, when guys act differently around their friends. He was cool, nonchalant, and flippant. I liked him A LOT better when he was drunk. Isn't that sad? Needless to say, I won't be going out with him again. I'm turning over a new leaf! Just say no to douchebags!!! Easier said than done, I'm afraid. Ick.

Anyway, I've got to get to work early tomorrow. Big presentation. :(

Happy April!!!

Hey y'all!!! I need to get better at this blogging thing. LOL! I'm accustomed to journaling my thoughts in my diary before going to bed, not typing them out. Plus, I decided I need to stop being so creepy and just lurking around reading other blogs. Unfortunately, my Internet connection has been down lately due to construction in the area. :(

Anyway, I've been trying to get out more and meet more people. For a while there, I was really upset and sulky over PTG....and then around mid-March he actually called me(!!!!!!) It was crazy! It was one of those late Saturday night calls....I think he had been partying at the club with his friends. I, of course, was home watching TV in bed. At first I was kind of mad....I mean after a string of unanswered texts and straight-to-voicemail calls to him, how could he have the nerve to think I'd even answer his phone call at 2 am??? Of course, after 2 rings....I conceded and picked up the phone.

The next thing you know, I'm waking up the next morning to the smell of eggs and bacon wafting in from my kitchen.....my guy was cooking me breakfast!! :) He couldn't stay too long....Sundays are busy days at the gym, after all. He even kissed me goodbye! It was so sweet.

So, who knows? I could be hearing a lot more from him. We'll see. I know he's really busy, and he works a lot at the gym, but I really think that this time could be different. It's been almost two weeks since I've heard from him, but I know that his phone has been on the fritz too. What a hard man to get a hold of! No pun intended, LOL!!! It's no big deal though; he told me that he likes to go to this one club called Wild Zebra. I've never heard of it, but thought that I could check it out if I don't hear back from him soon. You know, "Oops! Imagine seeing you here" kind of thing. I'll, of course, keep you posted!

To Blog or Not To Blog

Hey gang!!! I'm back and feeling better than ever. My girls took me out last night and it was just what the doctor ordered! We ordered a round of Skinny Bitches (I just love saying that!) and sang karaoke to Bon Jovi! All in all, it was a wonderful evening. I even gave some guys my number. I'm not going to get too excited, though, especially since I was kind of tipsy by that point, and in the light of day, these guys might look way different!! LOL. I hate when that happens!!

I'm trying to get more comments on my blog, but I don't want my friends in real life to read about my personal life. You know what I mean? This stuff is private. I'm debating on telling my friends or not, but then I'm worried that if I talk about them, even if it's in code, they'll know!! That could be bad. What do you other blog-girls do? Do you tell your friends your blog address or not?

The End of PTG

I haven't really felt like blogging recently. I had really gotten my hopes up about this one certain guy, and now I just feel so stupid. :( I guess I just put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak. It's been weeks since our date and he still hasn't called. What's worse is that I still want to work out, but I have to see him every now and then at the gym. It's hard enough to feel motivated to work out, but now I have the added pressure of knowing that PTG might be there. It's been stressing me out and well, I haven't exactly been sticking to my diet and exercise routine.

I'm trying to not get too hung up on him....new year, new guys, right?
My friends are going to try to set me up with someone to cheer me up. Hopefully, I will be back on track soon enough.

You know, I really thought I'd have a date for this weekend but PTG has not called me! It's been almost a week! What gives? I've been debating on whether or not to call him and have finally decided not to. I guess he's just not that into me - like the book. That movie is coming out soon! I'm excited to see it. I love Jennifer Aniston and I'm glad she's back in the movie scene. But I guess I'll be seeing it alone... :( Now I just feel pathetic because I'm going to be spending another Friday night alone. Not only that, but my coworkers invited me out but I told them I had plans. I guess it's not to late to go with them but now I'm just not feeling like it. Maybe he'll still call...

Post Date Post! (Hehe)

So a funny thing happened on this date of mine...

I was waiting at this cute little cafe for PTG to arrive and I was sitting there for 30 minutes before I finally got a text from him. I was getting ready to leave and was madder 'n' a wet hen but apparently he had gone to another little cafe with a similar name. I didn't feel so bad then. I waited just a little longer, looking like a doofus, before he arrived. He brought me daisies! :) He felt so bad that he even told the waiter that it was my birthday so that we could get some extra dessert. Wasn't that sweet of him? It was so cool too, because we had so much in common. We really hit it off! I couldn't believe that he's a fan of Girls Aloud! I haven't met anyone else who's even heard of that band. He also likes to go to the gym (obvs since he's a personal trainer) but he said that he would work with me on my diet and exercise routine to drop those few pounds I've been meaning to shed. He's so thoughtful like that. He gave me a kiss goodnight... And a kiss good morning! ;) He said he wants to go out again and I can't wait!

SATC and PTG!

I finally saw the Sex and the City movie! I don't know how I managed to go this long without seeing it, just busy I guess. :) Anywho, I don't know why people were complaining about it; I thought it was excellent! An excellent finish to an excellent series. I've always fancied myself a Carrie; I can identify with her free spirit and her passion for shoes. Ooh, and the dresses she wears! I just fell in love with the dress she was wearing when she was out and about in Manhattan. If only it came in pink! :)



Well, that's all for now. I'm off to have dinner with Personal Trainer Guy (PTG for short)! (This is our first outing. I hope it goes well; he's really cute! Not to mention now I have a reason to WANT to go to the gym!!!) I'll fill you in with more details later.

A "Gem" of a Gym Visit

Oh my God! I finally went to the gym today for the first time. I know, I know, it's been a week since the new year started! But at least I went. After I almost killed myself, and I was about to leave, I ran into the cute guy from the party! As it turns out, he works there as a personal trainer. I had decided to wear my new workout outfit, and let's just say I probably shouldn't have been stepping out in that just yet. It didn't seem to bother him because he stopped me to say hi, and asked me if I wanted to grab a bite. Well of course I said yes!

We went to this cute little corner cafe to pick up some panini sandwiches. He gave me some good pointers about my workout routine to get faster results. Earlier, I couldn't help but notice that he had been watching me do my abdominal curls on the yoga ball. Then at lunch he told me that he couldn't take his eyes off of me at the New Year's Eve party! **blush** We had to cut lunch short because he had to go back to work, but he said he'd call me. We'll see.

Oops! I did it again!

I fell off the diet wagon. No, it wasn't the Christmas cookies. My mom made a German Chocolate Cake and I could not resist. It was a small-ish piece. Well, there is always tomorrow. I will start again with a clean slate. And I should be able to get to the gym too. It's just been so hectic that I've had a hard time finding the time to get myself over there.

As motivation to go, I decided I would splurge a little and buy an exercise outfit:





It's a little flashy I know, and I can't wear it just yet, obvs, but when I do start going to the gym and get closer to my goal weight... Well, one step at a time. But it is sooo cute!!!

But that's enough boring stuff... The New Year's Eve party. Now, I know I kind of half jokingly mentioned meeting a cute boy there, but I didn't really expect to! There was this one guy though, who was very cute, and very tall. We talked for a little while and I gave him my number, but I haven't heard from him... Stupid guys and their "3 day rule."

Well, that's it for now. I need to run some errands (and hopefully squeeze in a trip to the gym).
